简介:TheeffectsofCeadditiononthequantity,size,distributionofinclusionsandthecontentofoxygen,sulfurandotherhazardousresidualelementsinspringsteelusedasfastenerinhighspeedrailwaywereinvestigatedbymetallographicexamination,SEM-EDSandcompositionanalysis.TheresultsindicatedthatthecontentsofoxygendecreasedwiththeadditionofCe([Ce]<0.1%)andthecontentofsulfurcontinuallydecreasedwithincreasingcontentofCe([Ce]<1.2%).However,withthefurtherincreaseofCeelementaddition,thecontentof[O]andT[O]begantoincrease.ThecontentofCecorrespondingtothelowest[O]andT[O]liedintherangeof0.10%–0.13%and0.045%–0.065%,respectively.TheadditionofCeinspringsteelresultedintheformationofrareearthoxides/oxysulfidesanddecreasedthesizeofinclusionstolessthan3μminglobularorspheroidshape.Moreover,theresidualharmfulelements(As,P,PbandSn)werefoundtoexistintheCe-containinginclusions,whichhadprovedthattheCeadditioncouldcapturetheresidualelementsandsuppresstheirprecipitationbehaviorsinthegrainboundary.
