  • 简介:Aninnovativefloatingmooringsystemwithtwoormoreindependentfloatingmooringplatformsinthemiddleandonerigidplatformoneachsideisproposedforimprovingefficiencyandsafetyinshallowwater.Forthisnewsystem,mostofcollisionenergyisabsorbedthroughthedisplacementoffloatingplatforms.Inordertoillustratethevalidityofthesystem,aseriesofmodeltestswereconductedatascaleof1:40.Thecoupledmotioncharacteristicsofthefloatingmooringplatformswerediscussedunderregularandirregularwaves,andtheinfluencesofwavedirectionandothercharacteristicsondynamicresponseofthesystemwereanalyzed.Theresultsshowthatthemooringsystemissafestat0°ofwaveincidentangle,whereasthemostdangerousmooringstateoccursat90°ofwaveincidentangle.Motionresponsesincreasewiththeincreaseofwaveheight,butarenotlinearlyrelatedtochangesinwaveheight.

  • 简介:Theartificialecologicalfloatingbediswidelyusedinriversandlakestorepairandpurifypollutedwater.However,thewaterflowpatternandthewaterleveldistributionaresignificantlychangedbythefloatingbeds,andtheinfluenceonthewaterflowisdifferentfromthatofaquaticplants.Inthispaper,basedonthecontinuousporousmediamodel,amoveabletwo-layercombinationmodelisbuilttodescribethefloatingbed.Theinfluencesofthefloatingbedsonthewaterflowcharacteristicsarestudiedbynumericalsimulationsandexperimentsusinganexperimentalwaterchannel.Thevariationsofthewaterleveldistributionarediscussedunderconditionsofdifferentflowvelocities(v=0.1m/s,0.2m/s,0.30m/s,0.4m/s),floatingbedcoveragerates(20%,40%,60%)andarrangementpositionsawayfromthechannelwall(D=0m,0.1m,0.2m).Theresultsindicatethattheflowvelocityincreasesunderthefloatingbeds,andthewaterlevelrisessignificantlyunderhighflowvelocityconditionsintheupstreamregionandthefloatingbedregion.Inaddition,theaveragerisingwaterlevelvalue(ARWLV)increasessignificantlywiththeincreaseofthefloatingbedcoveragerate,andthearrangementpositionoffloatingbedsintherivercanalsogreatlyinfluencethewaterleveldistributionunderahigh-flowvelocitycondition(v?0.2m/s).

  • 简介:ATime-domainHigher-OrderBoundaryElementMethod(THOBEM)isdevelopedforsimulatingwave-currentinteractionswith3-Dfloatingbodies.ThroughaTaylorseriesexpansionandaperturbationprocedure,themodelisformulatedtothefirst-orderinthewavesteepnessandinthecurrentvelocity,respectively.Theboundaryvalueproblemisdecomposedintoasteadydouble-bodyflowproblemandanunsteadywaveproblem.Higher-orderboundaryintegralequationmethodsarethenusedtosolvetheproposedproblemswithafourth-orderRunge-Kuttamethodforthetimemarching.Anartificialdampinglayerisadoptedtodissipatethescatteringwaves.Differentfromtheothertime-domainnumericalmodels,whichareoftenfocusedonthewave-currentinteractionwithrestrainedbodies,thepresentmodeldealswithafloatinghemisphere.Thenumericalresultsofwaveforces,waverun-upandbodyresponseareallinacloseagreementwiththoseobtainedbyfrequency-domainmethods.Theproposednumericalmodelisfurtherappliedtoinvestigatewave-currentinteractionswithafloatingbodyofcomplicatedgeometry.Inthiswork,theregularandfocusedwavecombinedwithcurrentinteractingwithatruss-sparplatformisinvestigated.

  • 简介:Verticalaxiswindturbines(VAWTs)areadvantageousforthedevelopmentoflarge-scaleoffshorewindpowerbecausethedrivesystemislocatedatthebottomoftheturbine.Thisstudyinvestigatesthestructuralstrengthofatri-floaterfloatingfoundationsupportinga2.6MWDarrieusVAWT.Finiteelementmodelsofthefloatingfoundationweredevelopedusingspaceplate-beamelements.Theenvironmentalloads,suchastheaerodynamicloads,staticwindloads,andwave-currentloads,wereconsidered.Thegeneralstrengthsofthefloatingfoundationwerecalculatedforthenormaloperatingcase(acut-outwindspeedof25ms^(-1)andbladerotationof12rmin^(-1)wereusedtoanalyzethemostunfavorableloads)andanextremecase(windspeedof40ms^(-1)andparkedblades),andtheweakcomponentsofthestructurewereanalyzed.Theresultsshowthatthefloatingfoundationmeetsthestrengthrequirementsandthestructuralstressishighestwhenthewave,wind,andcurrentareinacollineardirection.Themainandsecondarysupportingbarstransmittheloadsbetweenthestandcolumnsandthetowerfoundation,andtheirstressesarehigherthanthoseintheothercomponents.Intheactualdesign,thesesupportingbarsshouldbestrengthened.Theaerodynamicloadsareveryimportantandshouldbeconsideredinthestructuralstrengthanalysisofthefloatingfoundationandthefloatingwindturbinesystem.
