  • 简介:Onthebasisof10935broadbandvelocityrecordsof135earthquakes(ML3.0-6.4andepicentraldistanceof26-623km)occurredfromMay12toJune10in2008,whicharecollectedfrom27bedrockstationsincludedinSichuanEarthquakeMonitoringNetwork,thecorrespondingaccelerationrecordsareobtainedbyareal-timesimulationmethod.Thenbyregressionanalysisonthedata,therelationbetweenthepeakgroundaccelerationandvelocityattenuationofsmallandmoderatebedrockearthquakesoccurredinSichuanregionisacquired.AndtherelationisverifiedbyaM4.8earthquaketookplacerecentlyinWenchuan.Finally,theattenuationrelations,whicharecoincidenttothegeologicalconditionsinSi-chuanregion,areproposedbystudyingtherecordsfromSichuanearthquakenetwork.

  • 简介:Inthisarticle,werelocatedtheseismicsourcelocationoftheearthquakesintheMuliareaofSichuan,invertedthefocalmechanismofthelargerearthquakesandanalyzedtherelationshipbetweenthewaterleveloftheJinpingreservoirandthefrequencyoftheearthquakeswarm.Theresultsshowthat:(1)Theepicentersoftherelocatedsmallearthquakeswarmsaredistributedinaseismiczone,andtheearthquakefocaldepthswereintherangeof0-12km.(2)Byanalyzingtheearthquakeswarmspatialdistribution,wefoundthattheswarmsweregeneratedbyonebranchfaultonthewestofXiaojinhefault.(3)Thefocalmechanismofthethreeearthquakeswithmagnitudegreaterthan4.0issignificantlydifferent,withtheshallowsourcethrusteventsaffectedbyverticalstress,andthestrike-slipeventsarerelatedtoregionalstresstectonicactivity.

  • 简介:Thechangelawsofintensityofnearly200moderate-smallearthquakeswithMs=2.0~5.5occurringontheChinesemainlandsince1954havebeenanalyzedandarecomparedwiththatofmoderatelystrongearthquakes(Ms≥5.0).Theresultsshowthatthereisquiteobviousregionalityinthestatisticallawsbybothmoderate-smallearthquakesandmoderatelystrongearthquakes:attenuationofintensityinEasternChinaisslowerthanthatinWesternChinaandtheratioofthemajoraxistotheminoraxisofiso-seismallinesinEasternChinaissmallerthanthatinWesternChina.Theresultsalsoshowthatforafixedmagnitudetheattenuationofintensityofmoderate-smallearthquakesisfasterwhenintensityishigherthanV+andslowerwhenintensityislowerthanV-incomparisonwiththatofmoderatelystrongearthquakes.Furthermore,therealsohavebeensomedifferencesintheaspectsasintensity-magnituderelationbetweenstatisticallawsofmoderate-smallearthquakesandmoderatelystrongearthquakes.Thesedi

  • 简介:13earthquakeswithM≥5.0havebeenrecordedinthenortheastregionofChinasince1970,amongwhicheightmedium-strongearthquakesareindependentinspaceandtime.Studiesofseismicitybeforetheseeightmedium-strongearthquakesshowthatsmallearthquakeactivitywasenhancedbeforetheoccurrences.ThoughseismicityincreaseisacommonphenomenoninthenortheastChinaregion,wehavedifficultyinpredictingthemedium-strongearthquakesbythisphenomenonalone.Inordertopredictmedium-strongearthquakesthroughseismicityincrease,thispapertriestoproposeanewmethodthatcalculatessmallearthquakefrequencythroughthechangingpatternofsmallearthquakeactivitiesbasedonthecharacteristicsofsmallearthquakeactivityinthenortheastChinaregion.Theresultsshowthatwecangettheobviousanomalyfrequencyofsmallearthquakesbeforemedium-strongearthquakesthroughthenewmethod,andcanobtainamediumtoshorttermanomalyindexforthenortheastChinaregion.

  • 简介:Inthepaper,sourcemechanismsof33small-moderateearthquakesoccurredinYunnanaredeterminedbymodelingofregionalwaveformsfromYunnandigitalseismicnetwork.TheresultshowsthatmostearthquakesoccurredwithinorneartheChuandianrhombicblockhavestrike-slipmechanism.TheorientationsofmaximumcompressivestressesobtainedfromsourcemechanismarechangedfromNNW-SSNtoNSintheareasfromnorthtosouthoftheblock,andtensilestressesaremainlyinENE-WSWorNE-SE.IntheeasternTibetanPlateau,theorientationsofmaximumcompressivestressradiatetowardoutsidefromtheplateau,andthetensilestressorientationsmostlyparalleltoarcstructures.Near28°Ntheorientationsofbothmaximumcompressivestressandtensilestresschangedgreatly,andtheboundaryseemstocorrespondtothesouthwesternextendedlineofLongmenshanfault.OutsideoftheChuandianrhombicblock,theorientationsofPandTaxesaresomedifferentfromthosewithintheblock.Thecomparisonshowsthatthesourcemechanismofsmall-moderateeventspresentedinthepaperisconsistencewiththatofmoderate-strongearthquakesdeterminedbyHarvardUniversity,whichmeansthesourcemechanismofsmall-moderateeventscanbeusedtostudythetectonicstressfieldinthisregion.

  • 简介:AdenseseismicnetworkwasinstalledinthecapitalregionofChinainrecentyears,whichmakesitpossibletoresolvethefocalmechanismsofsmallearthquakes.Wegatheredlargeearthquakefocalmechanismsfromthelastfiftyyearsandmoderateorsmallearthquakefocalmechanismsfrombetween2002and2004,andcalculatedthepresenttectonicstressfieldofthecapitalregionbythegridsearchmethod,whichweighsdifferentsizedearthquakesandcanimprovetheaccuracyofthestressfieldinversion.Theanalysisofinversionresultsofdifferentsub-regionsshowsthattheazinuthofthemaximumprincipalcompressivestressaxisisNE43°-86°intheBeijing-Zhangjiakou-Datongarea,NE38°-86°intheTangshanarea,andNE79°-81°intheXingtaiarea.Inversionresultsofthispaperaresimilartopreviousresults,whichprovesthecorrectnessoftheapproach.Asrevealedbytheresults,thestressfieldofthecapitalregionischaracterizedbyoverallconsistencyandsub-regionaldifferences.Thisstudyprovidesreferenceforearthquakemechanismexplanationandgeodynamicsresearch.

  • 简介:ThegreatSanhe-PingguM8earthquakeoccurredin1679wasthelargestsurfaceruptureeventrecordedinhistoryinthenorthernpartofNorthChinaplain.Thisstudydeterminesthefaultgeometryofthisearthquakebyinvertingseismologicaldataofpresent-daymoderate-smallearthquakesinthefocalarea.Werelocatedthoseearthquakeswiththedouble-differencemethod.Basedontheassumptionthatclusteredsmallearthquakesoftenoccurinthevicinityoffaultplaneoflargeearthquake,andreferringtothemorphologyofthelongaxisoftheisoseismallineobtainedbythepredecessors,weselectedastrip-shapedzonefromtherelocatedearthquakecatalogintheperiodfrom1980to2009toinvertfaultplaneparametersofthisearthquake.Theinversionresultsareasfollows:thestrikeis38.23°,thedipangleis82.54°,theslipangleis-156.08°,thefaultlengthisabout80km,thelower-boundarydepthisabout23kmandtheburieddepthofupperboundaryisabout3km.ThisshowsthattheseismogenicfaultisaNNE-trendingnormaldip-slipfault,southeastwalldownwardandnorthwestwalluplift,withtheright-lateralstrike-slipcomponent.Moreover,thesurfacerupturezone,intensitydistributionoftheearthquakeandseismic-wavevelocityprofileinthefocalareaallverifiedourstudyresult.
