Microstructure - properties relationship of transient liquid phase diffusion bonded a third generation single crystal super alloy joint

摘要 Microstructureoftransientliquidphase(TLP)diffusionbondedathirdgenerationsinglecrystalsuperalloyjointwasinvestigatedusingscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),andmechanicalpropertiestestofjointwascarriedout,forobtainingrelationshipbetweenmicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesofjoint.Theresultsshowedthatthejointcontainedbondingzoneandbasemetal.Thediffusionzonewasobviouslyobserved.Whenitwasnotfinishedforisothermalsolidificationprocess,thebondingzonewouldcontainisothermalsolidificationzoneandrapidsolidificationzone.Metallographicexaminationrevealedthatisothermalsolidificationzonewasconsistedofyandphase.Rapidsolidificationzonewasconsistedoftwodifferentstructures,whichwereternaryeutecticofborides,yandy,phasedevelopingattheedgeofjoint,binaryeutecticofyandphaseappearingintheportionofjoint.Whenitwasnotenoughforhomogenizationprocessundertheconditionoffinishingisothermalsolidificationprocess,thebondingzonewouldcontainisothermalsolidificationzoneandboridesattheinterface.Undertheconditionsofrelativelyhighweldingtemperatureandlongweldingtime,averagetensilestrengthofjointwasequivalenttothatofparentmaterial.
