简介:Shape-inducedphasetransitionofvortexdomainstructures(VDSs)inBaTiO_3(BT)nanodotsunderopencircuitboundaryconditionhavebeeninvestigatedusinganeffectiveHamiltonianmethod.OurcalculationindicatesthetetragonalVDSmissingincubicBTnanodotscanbeinducedbyvaryingtheshapeofananodotfromcubetoplatelet.Interestingly,anovelVDSisfoundinBTnanoplateletsinoursimulations.Furtherinvestigationshowsthatitisaresultofcompromisebetweenthegroundstateandthesymmetryoftheshapeofthenanodot.Furthermore,basedonthenovelVDS,routesofcontrollingVDSsgovernedbyhomogeneouselectricfieldanduniformstressarediscussed.Inparticular,ourresultsshowthepossibilityofdesigningmulti-statesdevicesbasedonasingleVDS.

简介:Vagusnervestimulationexertsprotectiveeffectsagainstischemicbraininjury;however,theunderlyingmechanismsremainunclear.Inthisstudy,aratmodeloffocalcerebralischemiawasestablishedusingtheocclusionmethod,andtherightvagusnervewasgivenelectricalstimulation(constantcurrentof0.5mA;pulsewidth,0.5ms;frequency,20Hz;duration,30seconds;every5minutesforatotalof60minutes)30minutes,12hours,and1,2,3,7and14daysaftersurgery.Electricalstimulationofthevagusnervesubstantiallyreducedinfarctvolume,improvedneurologicalfunction,anddecreasedtheexpressionlevelsoftumornecrosisfactor-αandinterleukin-6inratswithfocalcerebralischemia.Theexperimentalfindingsindicatethattheneuroprotectiveeffectofvagusnervestimulationfollowingcerebralischemiamaybeassociatedwiththeinhibitionoftumornecrosisfactor-αandinterleukin-6expression.

简介:Brief-pulsestimulationat50Hzhasbeenshowntoterminateafterdischargesobservedinepilepsypatients.However,theoptimalpulsestimulationparametersforterminatingcorticalelectricalstimulation-inducedafterdischargesremainunclear.Inthepresentstudy,weexaminedtheeffectsofdifferentbrief-pulsestimulationfrequencies(5,50and100Hz)oncorticalelectricalstimulation-inducedafterdischargesin10patientswithrefractoryepilepsy.Resultsdemonstratedthatbrief-pulsestimulationcouldterminatecorticalelectricalstimulation-inducedafterdischargesinrefractoryepilepsypatients.Inconclusion,(1)abrief-pulsestimulationwasmoreeffectivewhentheafterdischargedidnotextendtothesurroundingbrainarea.(2)Ahigherbrief-pulsestimulationfrequency(especially100Hz)wasmorelikelytoterminateanafterdischarge.(3)Alowcurrentintensityofbrief-pulsestimulationwasmorelikelytoterminateanafterdischarge.
简介:Strontium-zinc-oxide(SrZnO)filmsformingthesemiconductorlayersofthin-filmtransistors(TFTs)aredepositedbyusingion-assistedelectronbeamevaporation.Usingstrontium-oxide-dopedsemiconductors,theoff-statecurrentcanbedramaticallyreducedbythreeordersofmagnitude.Thisdramaticimprovementisattributedtotheincorporationofstrontium,whichsuppressescarriergeneration,therebyimprovingtheTFT.Additionally,thepresenceofstrontiuminhibitstheformationofzincoxide(ZnO)withthehexagonalwurtzitephaseandpermitstheformationofanunusualphaseofZnO,thussignificantlychangingthesurfacemorphologyofZnOandeffectivelyreducingthetrapdensityofthechannel.

简介:ObjectivesToinvestigatetheeffectofelectricalstimulationduringabsoluterefractoryperiodoncontractionandrelaxationofventricularmyocytesfromnormalguinea-pigs.MethodsTheguinea-pigventricularmyocyteswereobtainedbyenzymedigesting,andtheextentofitscontractionandrelaxationandCa^2+transientwererecordedthroughthemotionedgedetectionsystem.Results①Thecontractingextentofguinea-pigventrieularmyocytesincreased15.45±6.48%,andthepeakvelocityofshorting(contraction)andthepeakvelocityofrelengthening(relaxation)increased15.97±8.37%and21.63±8.06%respectively(n=10);②Theextentofventricularmyocytesfluorescenceratio(360/380)(F360/F380)increased22.55±9.08%,andthepeakvelocityofventricularmyocytesF360/F380increased36.75±9.77%and23.62±4.47%duringshortingandrelengtheningrespectively(n=6).ConclusionsAppropriateelectricalstimulationmaystrengthenthenormalguinea-pigcontractingandrelaxingfunctionofventricularmyocytes.
简介:Anewthree-dimensionaldynamicsandelectrificationcoupledmodelhasbeendevelopedforinvestigatingthecharacteristicsofmicrophysics,dynamicsandelectrificationinsidethunderstorms.Thismodelisbasicallymodifiedfromathree-dimensional,time-dependent,anddual-parametercloudmodeloriginallyestablishedinIAP(InstituteofAtmosphericPhysics)andatwo-dimensionalaxisymmetricclouddynamicsandelectrificationcoupledmodel.Primarymodificationstothemodelincludenotonlythecouplingofelectrificationwithdynamicalandmicrophysicalprocesses,butalsothelightningdischargeprocessandscreeninglayereffectatthecloudtopaswell.Apartfromincludingafulltreatmentofsmallionswithattachmenttosixclassesofhydrometeors,theinductiveandnon-inductivechargingmechanismsaremorespecificallyconsidered.AcasesimulationofJuly19.1981CCOPEisperformedaimingtovalidatethepotentialcapabilityofthemodel.Comparisonbetweenmodelresultsandobservationsrevealsthatthemodelhasthecapacitytoreproducemanyoftheobservedcharacteristicsofthunderstormsindynamical,microphysical,andelectricalaspects.
