Basedonisotropiclinearporoelastictheoryandundertheundrainedcondition,wesummarizethreeequationsconnectingtheSkempton’scoefficientBwiththegroundwaterlevel.Afteranalysis,weproposeamethodtocalculatetheSkempton’scoefficientBaccordingtotherelationshipbetweenwaterlevelandtidalstrain.WiththismethodwecangetthevalueofBwithouttheearthquakeoccurrence,whichcanprovidethehighfrequencywavesforresearch.Besides,wecanalsogetthein-suitSkempton’scoefficientBwithouttheexperimentofrockphysics.Inaddition,weanalyzetheobserveddataofChangpingstationrecordedingroundwatermonitoringnetwork(abv.,GMN)beforeandaftertheWenchuanMS8.0withthismethod,andfindoutthere’saslightchangeofthevalueofBaftertheseismicwavespassedby,whichimpliesthatthepropagationofseismicwavesmayhavebroughtsomevariationstotheporoelasticmediumofthewell.
