Longtermmorphologicalsimulationsusingcompletecoupledmodelsleadtoverytimeconsumingcomputations.Latteux(1995)presentedmodellingtechniquesdevelopedfortidalcurrentsituationsinordertoreducethecomputationaleffort.Inthispapertheapplicabilityofsuchmethodstosmallscaleproblemsisinvestigated.Itispointedoutthatthesemethodscanbetransferredtosmallscaleproblemsusingtheperiodicityofthevortexsheddingprocess.
