Thispaperdealswiththepredictionofpotentiallymaximummagnitudeandorigintimeforreservoirinducedseismicity(RIS).ThefactorandsignofseismologyandgeologyofRIShasbeenstudied,andtheinformationquantityformagnitudeofinducedseismicityprovidedbythemhasbeencalculated.Intermsofinformationquan-titythebiggestpossiblemagnitudeofRISisdetermined.Thechangesofseismicfrequencywithtimearestudiedusinggreymodelmethod,andthetimeofthebiggestchangerateistakenasoriginaltimeofthemainshock.ThefeasibilityofmethodsforpredictingmagnitudeandtimehasbeentestedforthereservoirinducedseismicityintheXinfengjiangreservoir,ChinaandtheKoynareservoir,India.
