SriLankaisasmallbutimportantcountryonthe21stCenturyMaritimeSilkRoad.Eversincetheendofcivilwarin2009,theSriLankaneconomyhasachievedremarkablegrowth.However,thedebtproblem,especiallytheexternaldebtissue,keepsonperplexingthis“PearloftheIndianOcean”.ChineseinvestmentinSriLankaisregardedbysomeastherootcauseofthisproblem.Tosomeextent,thisissuehascastnegativeinfluenceontheSino-SriLankanrelations.Therefore,itisvitallyimportanttoidentifyandanalyzetherealsourcesofSriLanka’sexternalborrowings.
