CONDUCTIVITY METHOD APPLIED TO THE STUDY OF INTERACTION BETWEEN ADSORBENT AND ADSORBATE I．ADSORPTION OF LOW CONCENYRATION OF FREE ACID BY REGENERABLE CHITIN

Theadsorptionoflowconcentrationoffreeacidbyregenerablechitinisfollowedbyelectricconductancedetermination.Theeffectofacidconcentratioin,contentoffunctioinalaminogroups,andionicstrengthonadsorptionwasdiscussed.Experimentalresultsindicatethattheactivecentreofregenerablechitinisthefreeaminogroupsonistsurface,andthattherateofadsorptionoffreeacidwasfoundtobeaffectedbytwofactors:theinteractionbetweentheadsorbentandtheadsorbateinsolutionandthatbetweentheadsorbatemoleculesorionsinsolution.
