Thequadratictransformationmethodisproposedtoestimatethetrabecularspacing(Tb.Sp),animportantindexforosteoporosisdiagnosis.Theperformanceofthisalgorithmwasinvestigatedbyscattermodel,two-dimensionfinitedifferencetimedomain(2D-FDTD)simulationandinvitroexperimentsofbovinecancellousbonespecimens.Comparingwiththeotherfourmethods—autoregressivecepstrum(AR),adaptivefilter-autoregressivecepstral(AFAR),inversefilter-autoregressivecepstrum(InvAR),andsimplifiedinversefiltertracking(SIFT),quadratictransformationismuchmorestableandaccurate.TheresultsdemonstratedthatquadratictransformationisagreatalgorithmforTb.Spestimation.
