简介:MuonsproducedbytheBethe–HeitlerprocessfromlaserwakefieldacceleratedelectronsinteractingwithhighZmaterialshavevelocitiesclosetothelaserwakefield.Itispossibletoacceleratethosemuonswithlaserwakefielddirectly.Thereforeforthefirsttimeweproposeanall-optical‘GeneratorandBooster’schemetoacceleratetheproducedmuonsbyanotherlaserwakefieldtosupplyaprompt,compact,lowcostandcontrollablemuonsourceinlaserlaboratories.Thetrappingandaccelerationofmuonsareanalyzedbyone-dimensionalanalyticmodelandverifiedbytwo-dimensionalparticle-in-cell(PIC)simulation.Itisshownthatmuonscanbetrappedinabroadenergyrangeandacceleratedtohigherenergythanthatofelectronsforlongerdephasinglength.WefurtherextrapolatethedependenceofthemaximumaccelerationenergyofmuonswiththelaserwakefieldrelativisticfactorγandtherelevantinitialenergyE0.Itisshownthatamaximumenergyupto15.2GeVispromisingwithγ=46andE0=1.45GeVontheexistingshortpulselaserfacilities.

简介:Polarizationmanipulationisessentialindevelopingcutting-edgephotonicdevicesrangingfromopticalcommunicationdisplaystosolarenergyharvesting.Mostpreviousworksforefficientpolarizationcontrolcannotavoidutilizingmetalliccomponentsthatinevitablysufferfromlargeohmiclossandthuslowoperationalefficiency.ReplacingmetalliccomponentswithMieresonance-baseddielectricresonatorswilllargelysuppresstheohmiclosstowardhigh-efficiencymetamaterialdevices.Here,weproposeanefficientapproachforbroadband,highqualitypolarizationrotationoperatingintransmissionmodewithall-dielectricmetamaterialsintheterahertzregime.Byseparatingtheorthogonalpolarizationcomponentsinspace,weobtainrotatedoutputwaveswithaconversionefficiencyof67.5%.Theproposedpolarizationmanipulationstrategyshowsimpressiverobustnessandflexibilityindesigningmetadevicesofbothlinear-andcircular-polarizationincidences.
简介:APLU-SGSmethodbasedonatime-derivativepreconditioningalgorithmandLUSGSmethodisdevelopedinordertocalculatetheNavier-Stokesequationsatallspeeds.TheequationswerediscretizedusingAUSMPWschemeinconjunctionwiththethird-orderMUSCLschemewithVanLeerlimiter.ThepresentmethodwasappliedtosolvethemultidimensionalcompressibleNavier-Stokesequationsincurvilinearcoordinates.Characteristicboundaryconditionsbasedontheeigensystemofthepreconditionedequationswereemployed.Inordertoexaminetheperformanceofpresentmethod,driven-cavityflowatvariousReynoldsnumbersandviscousflowthroughaconvergent-divergentnozzleatsupersonicwereselectedtotestthismethod.Thecomputedresultswerecomparedwiththeexperimentaldataortheothernumericalresultsavailableinliteratureandgoodagreementsbetweenthemareobtained.Theresultsshowthatthepresentmethodisaccurate,self-adaptiveandstableforawiderangeofflowconditionsfromlowspeedtosupersonicflows.
