  • 简介:Anewdynamicmodelforcell-deformation-inducedadenosinetriphosphate(ATP)releasefromvascularendothelialcells(VECs)isproposedinthispapertoquantifytherelationshipbetweentheATPconcentrationatthesurfaceofVECsandbloodflow-inducedshearstress.ThesimulationresultsdemonstratethatATPconcentrationatthesurfaceofVECspredictedbytheproposednewdynamicmodelismoreconsistentwiththeexperimentalobservationsthanthosebytheexistingstaticanddynamicmodels.Furthermore,itisthefirsttimethataproportional-integral-derivative(PID)feedbackcontrollerisappliedtomodulateextracellularATPconcentration.ThreetypesofdesiredATPconcentrationprofilesincludingconstant,squarewaveandsinusoidareobtainedbyregulatingthewallshearstressunderthisPIDcontrol.ThesystematicmethodologyutilizedinthispapertomodelandcontrolATPreleasefromVECsviaadjustingexternalstimulusopensupanewscenariowherequantitativeinvestigationsintotheunderlyingmechanismsformanybiochemicalphenomenacanbecarriedoutforthesakeofcontrollingspecificcellularevents.
