简介:TheBABARdatabase,basedupontheObjectivityOOdatabasemanagementsystem,hasbeeninproductionsinceearly1999,Ithasmetitsinitialdesignrequirementswhichweretoaccommodatea100Hzeventratefromtheexperimentatascaleof200TBperyear.However,withincreasedluminosityandchangesinthephysicsrequirements,theserequirementshaveincreasedsignificantlyforthecurrentrunningperiodandwillagainincreaseinthefuture.NewcapabilitiesintheunderlyingODBMSproduct,inparticularthoseofmultiplefederationandread-onlydatabasesupport,havebeenincorporatedintoanewdesignthatisbackwardscompatiblewithexistingapplicationcodewhileofferingscalingintothemulti-petabytesizeregime.Otheroptimizations,includingtheincreaseduseofthghtlycoupledCORBAserversandanimprovedawarenessofspaceinefficiencies,arealsoplayingapartinmeetingthenewscalingrequirements.Wediscusstheseoptimizationsandtheprospectsforfurtherscalingenhancementstoaddressthelonger-termneedsoftheexperiment.

简介:GeographicalInformationSystem(GIS)iswidelyusedinmanyfields.Withtherapiddevelopmentofcomputernetwork,GISuserscaremoreaboutdatasharinginnetworks.Intraditionalrelationaldatabase,dataconsistencywascontrolledbyconsistencycontrolmechanismwhenadataobjectislockedinasharingmode,othertransactionscanonlyreadit,butcannotupdateit.Thisisappropriateintraditionalrelationaldatabasesthatstoreattributedataandmainlydealwithshorttransactions.Inspatialdatabases,becauseofvastamountofdataandcomplextopologicalrelations,longtransactionaremetfrequently.Ifthetraditionalconsistencycontrolmethodhasbeenusedyet,thesystem'sconcurrencywillbebadlyinfluenced.SotherecomemanynewrequirementsfortheconsistencycontrolinthefieldofGIS.Therearemanyaspectsofdataconsistencyproblemsinspatial databases,suchastheinconsistencybetweenattributeandgeometrydata;theinconsistencyoftopologicalrelationsaftergeometryobjectshasbeenmodified.Inthispaper,othertwocasesofdataconsistencyarediscussedinMulti_userGeographicalInformationSystem.
