A Parallel Algorithm for Adaptive Local Refinement of Tetrahedral Meshes Using Bisection

摘要 Localmeshrefinementisoneofthekeystepsintheimplementationsofadaptivefiniteelementmethods.Thispaperpresentsaparallelalgorithmfordistributedmemoryparallelcomputersforadaptivelocalrefinementoftetrahedralmeshesusingbisection.ThisalgorithmisusedinPHG,ParallelHierarchicalGrid(http://lsec.cc.ac.cn/phg/),atoolboxunderactivedevelopmentforparalleladaptivefiniteelementsolutionsofpartialdifferentialequations.Thealgorithmproposedischaracterizedbyallowingsimultaneousrefinementofsubmeshestoarbitrarylevelsbeforesynchronizationbetweensubmeshesandwithouttheneedofacentralcoordinatorprocessformanagingnewvertices.Usingtheconceptofcanonicalrefinement,asimpleproofoftheindependenceoftheresultingmeshonthemeshpartitioningisgiven,whichisusefulinbetterunderstandingthebehaviourofthebisectioningrefinementprocedure.
