摘要
ObjectiveTostudytheroleofdiureticagentsintreatingsuddendeafness(SD)andexplorethepossibilityofendolymphatichydropsasapotentialcauseofSD.MethodsTwenty-eightSDcaseswerereviewed.In23cases,treatmentwasinitiatedwithroutineagents.Diureticagentswerelateraddedin8ofthesecasesthatfailedtorespondtoroutinetreatmentagents.Diureticagentswereincludedintheinitialtreatmentintherest5cases.Intotal,13casesreceiveddiureticsinadditiontoroutinetreatmentagentsand15casesreceivedconventionaltreatmentonly.ResultsInthe8caseswhoreceiveddiureticsafterfailedconventionaltreatments,4showedhearingimprovement,whereasall5casesinwhichdiureticswereincludedintheinitialtreatmentdemonstratedhearingimprovement.ConclusionTheseresultssuggestapossibleroleofendolymphatichydropsinthepathophysiologiccourseofSD.Diureticsshouldbeconsideredwhenclearindicationsexistwithnoconflictstoothermedicalconditions.
