OnAugust21,2006,aninternationalforumwasheldinBeijingongenderdiscriminationinemploymentandpossiblemechanismsforrelief.Morethan50expertsattendedtheforumorganizedbytheDepartmentofLawofChinaWomen'sUniversity(CWU)andtheCWUCenterforStudyofHumanRightsforwomen.TheywerefromtheRenminUniversityofChina,HarvardUniversityoftheUnitedStatesandotherprestigiousinstitutionsofhigherlearning,theUnitedNationsDevelopmentProgram,theUnitedNationsWomen'sDevelopmentFund,aswellasChina'sSupremePeople'sCourt,theBeijingMunicipalWomen'sFederationandtheBeijingMunicipalFederationofTrade
