摘要
Mother-to-ChildHIVIAIDSTransmissionClinicalstudiesindicatethattheriskofperinatalHIV/AIDStransmission,ifnotinterrupted,isbetween15and50percent.Internationalstatisticsshowthateveryyear,thereare2.4millionHIV/AIDSinfectedpregnantwomenwhogivebirthto800,000infectedbabies.HIVinfectionhascausedworldinfantmortalitytoriseby75percent.StatisticspublishedbytheChineseMinistryofHealthshowthatinsomeareas,perinatalHIV/AIDStransmissionhasincreasedfrom0.1percentto0.6percent,andthat30to40percentofinfectedmotherspassthekillervirusontotheirbabies.
