摘要 Afterlessthanayearofoperation,theBaBarexperimentatSLAChascollectedalmost100millionparticlecollisioneventsinadatabaseapproaching165TB.Around20TBofdatahasbeenexportedviatheInternettotheBaBarregionalcenteratIN2P3inLyon,France,andaround40TBofsimulateddatahasbeenimportedfromtheLawrenceLivermoreNationalLaboratory(LLNL),BaBarCollaboratorsplantodoubledatacollectioneachyearandexportathirdofthedatatoIN2P3.SowithinafewyearstheSLACOC3(155Mbps)connectionwillbefullyutilizedbyfiletransfertoFrancealone.Upgradestoinfrastructureisessentialanddetailedunderstandingofperformanceissuesandtherequirementsforreliablehighthroughputtransfersiscritical.Inthistalkresultsfromactiveandpassivemonitoringanddirectmeasurementsofthroughputwillbereviewed.Methodsforachievingtheambitiousrequirementswillbediscussed.
