摘要 TheBaBarExperimentcollectedaround20TBofdataduringitsfirst6monthsofrunning.Now,after18months,datasizeexceeds300TB,andaccordingtoprognosis,itisasmallfractionofthesizeofdatacominginthenextfewmonths,Inordertokeepupwiththedatasignificanteffortwasputintotuningthedatabasesystem,Itledtogreatperformanceimprovements,aswellastoinevitablesystemexpansion-450simultaneousprocessingnodesaloneusedfordatareconstruction.Itisbelieved,thatfurthergrowthbeyond600nodeswillhappensoon.Insuchanenvironment,manycomplexoperationsareexecutedsimultaneouslyonhundredsofmachines,puttingahugeloadondataserversandincreasingnetworktrafficIntroducingtwoCORBAservershalvedstartuptime,anddramaticallyoffloadeddatabaseservers:dataserversaswellaslockserversThepaperdescribesdetailsofdesignandimplementationoftwoserversrecentlyintroducedintheBabarsystem:conditionsOIDserverandClusteringServer,Thefirstexperienceofusingtheseserversisdiscussed.AdiscussiononaCollectionServerfordataanalysis,currentlybeingdesignedisincluded.
