摘要
Thedemandforpotablewaterisrisingrapidlyduetoanever-increasingpopulation,economicactivities,anddwindlingwatersupplies.Toprovideadequatewatersuppliesinthefuture,understandingtheissuesandchallengesinthereuseofwateranddevelopingappropriatestrategiesforreusewillbecritical.Onewaytoaugmentwatersuppliesforresidentialuseistoreusegraywater-thewastewaterfromkitchens,bathrooms,andlaundries.Inthisarticle,wecriticallyreviewtheevolutionofwaterreuse,thedefinitionofgraywater,graywaterreusepractices,volumesandflowindifferentsituations,andgraywatercharacteristics.Wethenexaminetheissuesassociatedwithdifferentgraywatertreatmentmethodsandhowusinggraywaterforirrigationaroundhomesaffectssoilqualityandplantgrowth.Thestudyconcludesthatgraywatertreatmentcosts,humanhealthrisks,anditseffectonsoilqualityaresomeofthechallengesthatneedtobeaddressedinthefutureforwidespreadandsustainablereuseofgraywaterforirrigationaroundhomes.
