Effect of groove shapes on mechanical properties of welded joints of ASTM4130 steel

摘要 The30mmthickASTM4130steelpipewasfabricatedbygastungstenarcweldingandshieldedmetalarcweldingunderquenchedandtemperedconditions.Whereafter,themechanicalpropertiesofweldedjointsofbothVgrooveandcombinationdouble.Vgrooveweremeasured,whilethemicrostructurefeatureandfracturemorphologyofbothweldedjointswereinvestigated.Moreover,theeffectofgrooveshapesonthepropertiesofweldedjointswasexplored.TheresultsshowthattheweldingefficiencyofthecombinationdoubleVgroovejointisastwotimesasthatoftheVgroovejoint.Butthehardnessandtoughnessoftheheat-affectedzone(HAZ)withcombinationdoubleVgroovecannotsatisfytherequirements.Also,thecoarsegrainheat-affectedzone(CGHAZ)ofthecaplayerismainlycomposedofgranularbainite,temperedmartensiteandasmallamountofcarbon-freebainite,andthefracturedsurfaceofthefusionlineisentirelydominatedbythequasi-cleavagemode.ThatthemechanicalpropertiesofthecombinationdoubleVgroovearelowerthanthatoftheVgroovelieinthepenetrationratio,weldingheatinput,andtheareasanddistributionfeatureofbrittlezones.ThecombinationdoubleVgrooveisnotsuitableforthefabricatingofASTM4130steel.
