摘要
Designofenergeticmaterialsisanexcitingareainmechanicsandmaterialsscience.Energeticcompositematerialsareusedaspropellants,explosives,andfuelcellcomponents.Energyreleaseinthesematerialsareaccompaniedbyextremeevents:shockwavestravelattypicalspeedsofseveralthousandmeterspersecondandthepeakpressurescanreachhundredsofgigapascals.Inthispaper,wedevelopareactivedynamicscodeformodelingdetonationwavefeaturesinonesuchmaterial.Thekeycontributioninthispaperisanintegratedalgorithmtoincorporateequationsofstate,Arrheniuskinetics,andmixingrulesforparticledetonationinaTaylor–Galerkinfiniteelementsimulation.Weshowthattheschemecapturesthedistinctfeaturesofdetonationwaves,andthedetonationvelocitycompareswellwithexperimentsreportedinliterature.
