摘要
Precisionmedicineaimstoidentifytherightdrug,fortherightpatient,attherightdose,attherighttime,whichisparticularlyimportantincancertherapy.Problemssuchasthevariabilityoftreatmentresponseandresistancetomedicationhavebeenlongstandingchallengesinoncology,especiallyfordevelopmentofnewmedications.Solidtumors,unlikehematologicmalignanciesorbraintumors,areremarkablydiverseintheircellularoriginsanddevelopmentaltiming.Theabilityofnext-generationsequencing(NGS)toanalyzethecomprehensivelandscapeofgeneticalterationsbringspromisestodiseasesthathaveahighlycomplexandheterogeneousgeneticcompositionsuchascancer.HereweprovideanoverviewofhowNGSisabletofacilitateprecisionmedicineandchangetheparadigmofcancertherapy,especiallyforsolidtumors,throughtechnicaladvancements,moleculardiagnosis,responsemonitoringandclinicaltrials.
