Geological Evidence for the Presence of the Emperor Event in China-中国期刊网

摘要 ThepresenceofthereversalsofthegeomagneticfieldwithintheBrunhesisindicatedbypaleomagneticstuidesonCenozoicvolcanicrocksintheLeizhouPeninsula,loessstrataandQuaternarymarinesedimentsinthePearlRiverMouthbasininChina.Theseregionalreversalsoccuredat0.58±0.13Ma,0.45Maand0.47—0.48MarespectivelyaccordingtotheresultsofK-Arisotopicdatingandclimatostratigraphicandbiostratigraphicanalyses.ThereversalsequivalenttotheEmperorEventissuggested.ThereversalsrevealedindifferentregionswithvariouslithologiccharactersinChinaprovethattheEmperorEventisaglobalreversaleventratherthanageomagneticexcursion,anditsconfirmationwillpermitaprecisedefinitionoftheMiddle/LatePleistoceneboundary.
