MilitarytransparencyisacomplicatedandsensitiveissueintheSino-U.S.relationsandalsoatouchstonetestingthedegreeoftheirinterestcoincidence.Onecanhardlygainafullandprofoundinsightintotheessentialimplicationofmilitarytransparencyifheisdominatedbytherealistlogicandputtingundueemphasisontheimportanceofitinthebilateralmilitaryrelation.GiventhefactthatChinaandtheUnitedStatesaretwoimportantpowersshoulderingcriticalresponsibilitiesformaintainingglobalpeaceandsecurity,thisarticlearguesthatonlybyadoptinganewsecurityconcepttowardmilitarytransparencycouldthetwocountriesforgeaconsensusontheinternationalsecuritysituationandremovemisunderstanding,misgivingsanddistrustintheirmilitarycontactsandcooperation.Onlybyactivelyseekingandconstructinganewsecurityregimecouldthetwosidesstrengthentheinstitutionalbasefortheirmilitarycooperation.
