PALAEOZOIC TECTONIC PALAEOGEOGRAPHY OF THE CATHAYSIA IN EASTERN ZHEJIANG AND NORTHERN FUJIAN, CHINA-中国期刊网

摘要 Basedonthedataaboutsedimentaryfaciesandpalaeogeography,thispaperprovestheexistenceoftheCathaysia(thepartineasternZhejiangandnorthernFujian,thesamehereinafter)andmakesasurveyaboutitspalaeogeographysinceSinianPeriod.ItalsodiscussestheevolutionofthetectonicenvironmentofthisregionduringPhanerozoicEon,accordingtothefeaturessuchasthecompositionofsandstonesderivedfromtheoldlandandalkalinityofvolcanicrocksandsoon.ContinuousupliftingwasmaintainedinCathaysiaduringSinianPeriodandPaleozoicEra,typicallywithnosignificanttectono-magmaticactivitybeingobserved.ItsnorthwesternmarginbelongstothetypeofpassivecontinentalmarginduringthemiddleandlatephaseofCaledonianCycle.ItshowedthecharacteristicsofasteadycontinentinlatePaleozoicera,butwasturnedquicklyintoanactivecontinentalmarginafterthemiddleJurassicperiod.
