Development and application of an online pinhole detector for cold-rolled strips

摘要 Anonlinepinholedetectorbasedonthephotoelectricinspectionofcold-rolledsteelstripswasintroduced.Pinholedetectionisimportanttoguaranteethequalityofcold-rolledsteelstrips.ThedetectorherewasdevelopedindependentlybyBaosteel,andisdesignedbasedontheprincipleofphotoelectrictransfer.Typically,aninspectionlightsourceisinstalledabovethesteelstriptobeinspected,andaphotoelectricreceiverisinstalledbeneaththesteelstrip.Thepinholedetectorconsistsofasuper-brightLEDlightsourceandaphotoelectricreceiver,whichiscomposedprimarilyofphotomultipliers.Thesuper-brightLEDlightsourceilluminatesthestripsurface,andthelightthatpermeatesfrompinholesisdetectedandamplifiedbyaphotoelectricreceiver.Thephotomultipliertransformsthedetectedlightintoanelectricalsignal,whichislaterrecognizedandclassifiedbyasignal-processingcircuitandcollectedbyadata-acquisitioncard.Thedetectorcanaccuratelytrackthestripedgeandshieldthestripedgefromoutsidelight.Asaresult,thissystemcandetectapinholeinthestripedgewithasmallblindzoneontheedge.Mostimportantly,thedetectorexhibitsgoodinspectionaccuracyandcanaccuratelydetectapinholewithadiameterof155m.
