Coupled estimation of the energy slope and associated sand-silt transport during high stream power events in alluvial rivers

摘要 Acoupledroutingforthetransportcapacityandtheenergyslopeisintroducedthroughthedefinitionofthecontrolfactormwhosevalueislinkedtothebedformconfiguration.Thecouplingaimstofurtherincorporatetheinteractionsoccurringinalluvialriversandthusenhancethepredictionofthefinesedimentfluxes,especiallyduringhighstreampowerevents.Basedonapredictiveruleforthecontrolfactormthatonlyinvolveswaterdepth,velocityandbedformconstitutivetexture,thenovelmethodisconfrontedtoobservationscollectedinoneofthemoststronglydynamicalluvialrivernamelytheLowerYellowRiver.Comparisonsbetweentimeseriesofmeasuredandcomputedconcentrationsillustratethatduringhighvelocityeventsthemaindynamicsofthesedimenttransportiscorrectlyreproduced.Themainadvantageofthepresentapproachistosupplyconsistenttimeevolutionsofsedimentconcentrationswithoutmakinguseofanydetailedshearinformation.
