摘要
ThecoastalareaofsouthernChinaisfrequentlyaffectedbymarinemeteorologicaldisasters,andisalsooneofthekeyareasthatinfluencetheshort-termclimatechangeofChina.Duetoalackofobservationalfacilitiesandtechniques,littlehasbeendoneinthisareaintermsofoperationalweathermonitoringandscientificresearchonatmosphericandmarineenvironment.WiththesupportofChinaMeteorologicalAdministration(CMA)andGuangdongMeteorologicalBureau(GMB),theMarineMeteorologicalScienceExperimentBase(MMSEB)atBohe,MaominghasbeenjointlyestablishedbyGuangzhouInstituteofTropicalandMarineMeteorology(GITMM)andMaomingMeteorologicalBureau(MMB)ofGuangdongProvinceafterthreeyearsofhardwork.Ithasbecomeanintegratedcoastalobservationbasethatisequippedwithacompletesetofsophisticatedinstruments.Equipmentmaintenanceanddataqualitycontrolprocedureshavebeenimplementedtoensurethelong-term,steadyoperationoftheinstrumentsandtheavailabilityofhighqualitydata.PreliminaryobservationsshowthatthedataobtainedbytheMMSEBrevealmanyinterestingfeaturesintheboundarylayerstructureandair-seainteractioninsuchdisastrousweatherastyphoonsandseafog.TheMMSEBisexpectedtoplayanimportantroleinthescientificresearchofdisastrousweatherrelatedtomarinemeteorology.
